Half the battle with managing noxious and other undesirable weeds is being able to identify the plant so we can find out the appropriate control measures.

THE HISTORY OF PRICKLY PEAR IN E. AUSTRALIA :
Prickly pear is in our history books as one of the most invasive weeds ever imported into Australia. Website author Les Tanner was one of many who worked on the former (NSW) Prickly-pear Destruction Commission (PPDC). Every old hand who retired before Les was supposed to write a book about the prickly pear days and in particular, the PPDC. It never happened.

This project to record some of the PPDC history is probably as close to that phantom book as it will  ever be!
